The Sands of Marrow
Long ago, the Septus Court was one more. Wandermorel, Irearath, Zanamros, Aganazzar, Rary, Dagarkin, and Snilloc all are known. The far lesser heard of Vrases formed the 8th school. Farrowind saw a new prosperity the likes of which the land had never seen, and like never will again. Vrases wanted to continue this and slaved over his books and studied. He found a way, a way the 8 headmasters could remain in control. Maintain their power and dominance and keep making the world better with their magics. The others saw the danger in this and voted unanimously to expel Vrases from the lands and shut down his school of cult like followers… But it was too late. Vrases had changed. In the moment, they realized they couldn't just expel him, they had to kill him, and through their combined powers, they did, or so they thought. The world did not know of the magics of Liches. They may have slain the body of Vrases, but that was not the end of him. In the year 212 D.R he came from no where and marched on Farrowind with an army of undead from the lands at the southern boarder of Mauernorden (the Dwarven Kingdom). Blood was spilt, but Vrases' army was defeated, and once again his body was slain. Slowly, 1 by 1 the headmasters passed away from old age and the new headmasters took up the fight against Vrases. And every so often, Vrases rises again with his undead army. Overtime, he carved out a section of land for himself known as the Sands of Marrow, a name earned by the sand-like floor being made of shattered bones. Now the frequency of his attacks has slowly dissipated. Maybe his magics grow weak or maybe he is just buying his time for the right chance to strike. We are in our longest drought of an undead invasion to date.
